A three-dimensional website creates value when its spaces help people understand the content. Services can occupy different nodes in a digital network, references can form a connected cluster and contact can become a meeting point. The environment gives relationships a visible form.
Exploration should remain optional. A visitor who already knows which service they need should be able to reach it directly through a link. Spatial discovery and direct navigation serve different intentions within the same experience.
Content independent of the scene
Text drawn exclusively inside a WebGL scene can be difficult to select, share and use with assistive technology. We therefore treat the visual environment and the document structure as separate layers.
Semantic HTML carries the service description and links. The three-dimensional scene provides context. Even if the scene cannot load, the purpose of the page and the next step should remain available.
A distinct address for each page
A service detail shown only in a dialog does not provide all the properties of a dedicated page. Separate URLs make it easier to associate each topic with a title, description, language alternative and place in the navigation hierarchy.
Google notes that server rendering or pre-rendering can help both users and crawlers. Content can be included in the initial HTML rather than waiting for the three-dimensional engine to start.
Motion should support reading
Camera movement can explain the transition between areas. While someone reads, the environment should become calmer. Pause controls, reduced-motion preferences and keyboard navigation support this balance.
Long content in a full-screen interface can live inside a centered, scrollable document. Clear headings give readers a sense of progress without cutting away the substance of the article.
